God is The Only One
Have you ever wondered if there is only one God?
People around the world believe many different things about God. You may sometimes wonder, “Who is the one true God?” The Bible teaches us that there is only one true God. His name is Yahweh, and no one is like Him.
God has always shown us who He is. He is powerful, loving, kind, merciful, faithful, and full of grace. He made everything, gives life to everyone, and cares for His creation.
Let us look at what the Bible says about why Yahweh is the only God.
Yahweh is the Creator
The Bible teaches us an important truth: there is only one true God. He is the Creator of heaven and earth, the giver of life, and the One who deserves our worship and praise.
The Bible calls God Yahweh. He is not one of many gods. God tells His people that He alone is God. Deuteronomy 6:4 teaches that the Lord is our God and that the Lord is one. Everything in the universe depends on Him, but He depends on nothing.
He is the giver of Life/ Make a way for our sins
God is the giver of life. He created us and gives us the breath we have each day. Because God gives us life, we should thank Him and honour Him.
We are to worship God
This means that our hearts should belong completely to God. We can show Him that we love Him by:
- Praying to Him every day.
- Reading and obeying His Word.
- Worshipping Him with joyful hearts.
- Thanking Him for His continuous blessings.
- Trusting Him when we are afraid or uncertain.
- Turning away from sin and choosing what is right.
Jesus is our mediator
The Bible also teaches that there is one God and one mediator between God and people (1 Timothy 2:5). He showed us who God is by walking among us, giving His life for us, and rising again. Through Jesus, we learn about God’s perfect love, receive forgiveness, and enjoy everlasting life.
